Tim: The best solution would be to update Norton Utilities. NU2 is the culprit, not the newer versions. If you don't want to do that, you could try working around any possible conflicts with QP Virtual.

One thing I did when I had NU2 was to remove QP Virtual from the startup menu and toolbar and place it on the desktop. I opened the application only when I needed it. I did this because I had problems at startup and shutdown on my computer when I had QPV in the startup menu. I also removed Norton Disk Doctor from the startup menu.

If you want to remove QPV from the startup menu, first install QPV, then reboot. Then right click on Start, and left click on Open, Programs and Startup. Drag QPV out of the starup menu onto the desktop. There is a chance that you could have problems with the first reboot.

As for Norton, if you don't want it at startup, you can select this option in the program. Not running it at startup, and closing it before shutdown, could eliminate conflicts with QPV.
