Drilling resumes 09/11/1998 01:02:00 / Major General Resources Ltd Major General Resources Ltd. ("MGJ-V;mgrlf-l") Donner Minerals Ltd ("DML-V;dnnmf-l") Teck Corp ("TEK.A,TEK.B-tmv") - Drilling Resumes
Glenn G. Shevchenko, President of Major General Resources Ltd., Announces Donner Minerals Ltd./ Teck corporation have recently resumed drilling on the South Voisey Bay project with 4 to 6 drill holes targeted for Major General's Sarah Lake property. The partially completed pulse electromagnetic (pem) survey on the Sarah Lake property has outlined a number of anomalies that are interpreted as "flat living" conductors located at the base of the gabbro complex. At this time, four drill holes are planned on
such conductors while two other targets are pending until the gravity surveying has been completed. Additional pem surveying in the north central portion of the property may develop further drill targets. Interpretation of field work completed on the Sarah Lake claims to date indicates that much of this property is
underlain by the favourable gabbro complex. Until recently, work on the central portion of the property has been limited due to the extensive cover of local gneisses. This cover is now interpreted to be relatively thin, allowing the base of the gabbro to be surveyed by pem which can test to depths of 500 metres. This extensive
gabbro, combined with the recently discovered feeder type dyke complex at the western fringe of the Sarah Lake property substantially enhances the potential for discovery of a Voisey's Bay style nickel-copper zone. Drill holes in the area of the feeder dyke all encountered highly contaminated olivine gabbro with significant nickel sulphides at the base of the known gabbro complex, a setting similar to the Voisey's Bay deposits. These factors, combined with the apparent thickening of the host olivine gabbro into the centre of major general's property provide for a very large area of untested favourable gabbro complex. A map is available upon request from the company. Tel: (604) 685-5254 Glenn G. Shevchenko

Post #605 reports several meters of sulfides intersected. I don't think that these were even shipped to the lab. Post on Doner thread says only significant intersections would go to lab. Seems there are several "significant intersections" at the lab from NAI.
