Richard,

We have been told in the past that it is not possible to extract the pm's from the first leach solution. Even though they are dissolved, they have to be precipitated, smelted with copper and other pm inquarts and leached again. Without knowing what minerals contain the pm's and the composition of the first leach solution, it is hard to speculate why the pm's can't be removed from the first leach. If the head ore contains 10 oz/ton it is hard to imagine that a standard fire assay wouldn't show at least a couple of oz per ton!
