Thanks for posting this. As far as the downgrade stocks are concerned, I'm going to start papertrading only the ones that open down and then don't drop any further. While the few days that I looked at the action is far from an exhaustive study, there does seem to be something there that I would be comfortable with. If the papertrading goes well, I'll be ready for next earnings season.

Friday, none of the downgrades/earnings blowups I posted met the criterea. (Probably because everyone in the world was busy trading GERN!)

I may take the bottom picking information in those posts above, and start looking at how it would perform with the stocks that I watch everyday. Yesterday, for instance, I posted MSFT at 107 5/8 as it took out the morning high. Sure would have been nice to be able to spot the bottom at 106 5/16. The nets often sell off in the morning, and have to make up a lot of ground before they make it back to their triggers. On the other hand, it would require that you were focused on one stock, which could end up to your detriment.
