Roger,

<<that was a great historical perspective on the emergence of fibre channel and Ancor's past and present position. After all that has happened, I can wait until 99. You can't put your fingers on it...but the feeling of good things to come is here for the first time since the Sequent collapse sent our dreams swirling down the sewer.>>

Thanks. There is one HUGE difference this time. In 1999, there will be more than ONE vendor (Sequent) shipping Fibre Channel switches in volume. That is a MAJOR difference.

I agree that it is difficult to put your finger on exactly what will happen, or even when, but it does seem like good things may be around the corner. My wife tells me that that I am a sort of "visionary", because I can see where these things are going to fit, even before they mature. We certainly aren't there yet, but the pieces to this whole Fibre Channel puzzle are starting to fit. (Note: Being a good "visionary" is not the same thing as being a good "investor". <g>)
