This may be a fairly basic question, but at what point will the seemingly enormous amount of short interest squeeze the price higher?

We need to do some digging, but I recall a post on this thread, within the past 4-6 weeks, that said something to the effect that a great bulk of the short position is attributable to some kind of protective hedge. If true, it might mean that there is less of an overhang of short shares than first meets the eye. Again, I don't know if this is true, but I do recall seeing that post.

Can anyone help on this one? Thanks!
