GZ,

Engineer you are not, aye? A step function is one in which the forcing function pushes straight up like the first step on your stairs. It can either come back down again to the level it started or stay up. In this case, the indicator went straight up, held and then came back down again. Would I bet the farm on it? Nope! Nor would I even bet my 30x10 garden. Now a FLOWER pot... maybe!

Well last week I was negative on the markets because of a rogue indicator, Barron's indicators I use and my estimate of investment advisor bullishness. This week I am negative solely because many of my indicators are saying either a consolidation or sell-off area is coming. The infamous VIX signal is still on a buy and a newer RSI on the vix is on a sell reset (meaning the sell signal which was triggered within the past 10 days was reset).
