Perhaps they had to make these intentions public before beginning the buy back. It would seem unethical to buy a bunch of shares and then issue news which is likely (but you never know with this stock) to produce a pop.

I'm generally not a fan of dividends for technology companies, especially small caps. Seems like a waste of resources.

I hope there willingness to throw away money like this means they are fully prepared to aggressively buy back shares as soon they get final government approval.

I agree, but I think a strong buy back is a much better way to manage the stocks price. Every share they take off the market is gone. I will be extremely disappointed if they don't buy back the full 10% they are allowed each year now that they are signaling that they are willing to squander cash like this.

I am not convinced that this is in the best long term interest of long term CREAF investors.
