a bit off topic, but...Whoa, Scott. Going a bit too far here. You don't know too much about attention-deficit disorder, do you? I agree that too many drs. treating don't do adequate assessment or labwork monitoring, but most people would rather get medical problems that fall under the domain of psychiatry treated by non-psychiatrists, and this plays a role. Nevertheless, stimulants are extremely effective treatments for a.d.d. a large majority of the time, and safety and efficacy have been well studied. Currently the % of children being treated for a.d.d. is under 3%, and since the estimated incidence is 3-10%, doesn't really sound like it is being overtreated to me. Have you ever checked to see what the drug abuse rate is in people with a.d.d who haven't been treated? Pretty high, and there aren't many teens with treated a.d.d. abusing their medicines. BTW, do you really think that food allergies or hypoglycemia have much to do with a.d.d.? Also, how many meds for children actually get fda approval below a certain age??? Not many parents volunteerting their kids, so does that mean a child who is too young shouldn't be treated? BTW, ritalin doesn't have approval for under 6, but adderall and dexedrine do.
Still love following biotech, including isip, but let's stick to the stuff we know, please?
