Hello Tom, and yes Mike, I'm still alive and kicking, but stretched lately, so lurking here believe it or not, rather than posting all the time. There is so much going on in the CDMA world now that it is hard to keep up.

Fortunately there is a group of very interested people following CDMA and Qualcomm now and there is heaps of info coming into SI on it all.

Just a reminder that this time last year, it was all looking very tenuous. Now they are making serious comparisons between GSM subscriber numbers and CDMA numbers. With per pop market shares both well below 1% world wide, the race has only just begun. The GSM crowd have such a tiny lead that it is almost pathetic watching them try to pretend they have the market by the scruff of the neck.

While the size of a company does not mean it is worth more per share, Qualcomm's share price remains in the doldrums, which is very surprising to me, but a matter of indifference as it is dividends I wish to bank and those will come from subscriber sales not shareholders bidding the share price up.

Qualcomm's profits will be of academic interest again this quarter as they haven't been paid for much stuff yet, but it is all set to avalanche now. The revenues should of course continue their skyward climb which will covert to profits as the establishment costs shrink in comparison.

Okay Tom, you want a prediction? Damned if I know when or if people will get excited about Qualcomm. It flummoxes me as to why they don't - they paid $43 per share way back in 1993 when it was much more pie in the sky than it is now. It is real sales to real subscribers now, and in the multimillions this year. Angela points out another [Hyundai] handset supplier and there are a lot more of them coming on stream too.

I can only suppose that interest will come with a rush when profits move into the $ per share range rather than cents per share.
Maurice.
