Cheeky Kid, I tend to disagree with your assessment of the
effect of Y2K on computer manufacturers (one of whom I
work for). Most of the money companies are spending to become
Y2K compliant is spent on upgrading/fixing the software
and not on hardware upgrades. In fact once Y2K passes,
more money should get diverted in IT/MIS departments
from Y2K compliance programs to new hardware
purchases, so my expectation is exactly the reverse
of yours.
