***OT*** Houston! Well, that's a challenge. Although they have a good symphony, if I recall correctly (imagine keeping a piano in tune in that humidity!). A pop reco? Have to ask my daughter. I'm locked in the 60s and 70s when it comes to pop. I will recommend, if you not heard it, two recent things from teh Kronos Quartet. Their P Glass disk is terrific. But if you want real intensity, go for the double cd of Schnittke (recently deceased). Schnittke's SQ #3 is the aural embodiment of absolute terror. You can hear the KGB agents coming up the stairs. It is simply fantastic. Is that Dylan really that good? OK, I'll get it. I bought his last album and liked it a lot. Soooooo dark. Finally, have you seen the rave reviews for Stoppard's new play "The Invention of Love"? I will be in Italy the first week of January and am thinking of popping over to see it. Arcadia was one of the best plays ever written and the production in London was outstanding (as well as at Lincoln Center).
