Raytheon & Angel Team On Metro Area Wireless Service

LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS, U.S.A., Newsbytes via NewsEdge Corporation : Wireless telecommunications continuesto be a growing success in the corporate marketplace. In a new twist, Raytheon Company [NYSE:RTNA] says it has signed a formal deal with St. Louis, Mo.-based Angel Technologies Corp., to jointly pursue stratospheric broadband wireless business opportunities.

Raytheon says the two companies have been working since 1996 to " demonstrate the feasibility" of broadband wireless services using High Altitude Long Operation (HALO) aircraft.

The companies say the signed deal "formalizes their partnership to extend these activities into a successful business venture."

Raytheon provides products and services in the areas of commercial and defense electronics, engineering and construction, and business and special mission aircraft.
