Momentum Periods and ASND
ASND is still above the lower trendline, but it is getting very close to crossing that threshold. I offered thatstock and range in response to another question Barbara, I am not saying one should short it just yet. If it goes blow 48.5, though I would seriously consider selling any long position.
As for momentum periods, that tends to be stock and sector specifc, but I have generally found that the 3/5-7, 5/9, 9/12-15, 15/21-26 and 21-26/39 to be useful crossover indicators. The shorter ones for the faster/more volatile stocks, andthe longer ones for larger view indications and slowermoving or less heavily traded stocks.
As for other sectors, if they aren't part of this rebound, then it is more likely they are cyclical or seasonal or other sectors thatrespond to influences other than general economy (oil, etc). The Consumer Goods/Department stores should be gearing up for Christmas sales and corecasted earnings, since that is about half their annual revenue - worth looking at to see what is doing well. In additiion, specialty and fad toys (who makes the furbie, btw?) are worth investigating.
