MeDroogies:

Am I supposed to change my argument from one thread to the next - you have me confused with Clinton? I can't remember ever being on that thread but it is possible. You are consistent as well, as all your arguments are based on two shaky pillars:
1. The public - the American consumer is stupid (I believe your patronizing word was uninitiated) or at east not as smart as MeDroogies. This is typical pro big government thinking. Also the thinking of the DOJ.

2. That MSFT has all these exclusionary contract clauses in place. Witness after after witness has testified that this is not the case. Mr Decker of Compaq Presario division is the most recent exec. to do so. If companies are intimidated by MSFT why are they not intimidated in the area of graphics/publishing? The answer is that Mac OS in tandem with third party software is simply better in that application. The place where the battle should be fought is in the market and not the courts. That is why America has the best value in their market place as our market places are relatively free. Go to Europe if you want to see how little value in goods and services is afforded when the state runs things. Yes the government- there is a monopoly we can live without.

At the present I only see a bright future for Linux and Java and perhaps MS Office will appear in Linux form one day. Java will get better if and when the develop the universal client and speed things up. It has been my experience up to the present that 1. I can't use many Java apps as the Mac client has not been written and 2. Java is relatively slow.
