Lynn,

Don't worry. This is OLD news. HWP & MSFT have been at odds
against SUNW since their marriage of convenience to re-market
Windows NT.

Neither company can hold a candle to SUNW as engineering
companies, so they like to make a little noise every now and
then to let everyone know they still exist & "just don't
agree" with the Java standard.

What they don't like is the prospect of SUNW cleaning up on
Java licenses at their expense, especially MSFT.

HWP is run by Casper Milqtoast (aka Lew Platt) who has
difficulty walking & chewing gum at the same time. He is
a neighbor of McNealy's and probably can't stand the constant
ribbing about the inferiority of HPUX and its plummeting sales.

If you're still concerned, watch the ruling coming out of
the Java trial in San Jose. Judge Whyte is getting ready to
rule on an injuction request against MSFT. SUNW should win.
If they do, the HWP/MSFT alliance is even on shakier ground
than it is now.

cheers,

cherylw
