name of the person/people who decided that Cobol only needed two digits to express years? Cobalt, No I do not. But I don't think the original fellow is to blame, he did it for a darn good reason. It is all those lazy programming geeks that didn't do squat once the hardware improved to the point that another two fields didn't matter much.
