Robert, You are probably right!

It is hard for anyone to get real excited about the CAML these days. I suppose that people have a problem dealing with an animal in it's death throes.

Tim, If you are still reading this thread...I noticed that something was glaringly absent from Camelot's latest press release. This, of course, was any news about the release of a new version of Digiphone. You know...the one with improvements such as incorporating Lucent Technology's voice codec. They sure made a big deal about purchasing rights to use this supposedly superior codec... Wasn't this new version promised for January 1997?

All of the other players have released at least two new versions of their software recently. Many of the big boys (Intel, Microsoft, Vocaltec) have released versions incorporating VIDEO. Camelot cannot even seem to get it together to plug a new codec into their product in 6+ months time. Heck in this time period Vocaltec has released a major upgrade for multi platform use of the basic audio application AND about 6 betas plus a final release for the version using VIDEO. They are currently working on a version 5 for release this quarter!

I guess that it is hard to produce new software when the average employment time for developers at Camelot is under 6 months!!

One other thing about this press release...the recycling of the computer telephone handset concept. Yes Danny has turned into an environmentalist. I believe that this is the same handset that was announced in a May 1996 press release for delivery in July. Now it is a new product for 1997 to be delivered in March... of WHAT YEAR...well it is not that important, no one wants the damn things anyway ( just talk to one of the eight or so companies that have actually been delivering this type of unit for well over a year), but it sure is another case of Camelot promising...promising...but delivering too little too late, or not at all! (Isn't this the definition of a HYPE release...much more fiction than fact)

I suppose that this type of evidence of Camelot's inability to compete is the reason for the stock hovering right close to its' all time low price.

Tim, please tell me that you are not still buying blocks of CAML in the HOPES(?) that it will rise from the ashes. This is a dromedary we are talking about here...NOT a Phoenix!! <GGG>
