Gary, With Microsofts 30,000 ISV's (and their Java versions) it'll be tough for NOVL and SUNW to compete...with the possible exception of directories. Your right that NOVL and SUNW might find it tough to compete if they were the only ones in the game, but you all forgot about the largest Software developer in the world and their influence in pushing Java and CORBA. IBM is the strongest pusher of "Pure Java" and NOVL SUNW ORCL and many others are working together (with their combined ISVs) to make sure that pure Java with succeed. Take a look at IBM's "SanFrancisco" Java project if you have a chance. This IBM development (which many of the above mentioned players are interested in) is going to make huge in-roads into Pure Java development. Toy
