GENERAL MOTORS CORP's hourly workers at two Delphi Automotive
Systems parts plants here ratified an agreement late Tuesday
that allows the No. 1 U.S. automaker to avoid strikes at the
plants through 2002. About 2,500 of the plants' 3,400 workers
voted during the day-long process, with 83% ratifying the deal,
said a spokesman for UAW Local 696. (Reuters 06:18 PM ET
