Well, at least we have some agreement! But I suspect that much of this perceived republican use of racism amounts to unreasonably reading racism into the matter where it really doesn't exist. I don't think the creators of the Willie Horton ad said to themselves, "we'll use a black guy for this one so we can appeal to racists." Perhaps the failure to see how that ad would be perceived means something to me, I don't know, but if it wasn't overt- I don't think racism was an appropriate charge to throw about.
