Thanks, Justa! For history, see also a March article at oregonlive.com and a May article at sumnet.com .

The Oregonian tends to be pretty pro-Intel, judging from the disproportionate space given to quotes from Intel-paid spokespeople and the kid gloves treatment of the claims made.

Note the absence of quotes from AMD and Motorola. Note the failure to mention the size of the government subsidy of the EUV project prior to Intel's takeover in 1992. Note further the failure to mention the size of the previous contributions by Ultratech.

Notice, too--- no mention of current INDIRECT subsides by the government of the national lab work done for Intel (Has there been any discounted rent or at-cost use of government premises? Any use of equipment carried over from before either not paid for by Intel or purchased by Intel from the govt. at fire sale prices??? Any departments outside the lab that perform accounting work, janitorial duties, carry the personnel costs, provide pension-supervision or pension-matching that benefits Intel-paid researchers inside the lab???)

Does anybody know the email addresses of the two Congressmen fighting the Intel moves? Julia Brown
