ok, think only virtual. you set up a profile by simply running a scan called macd, qrs, or another name and doing say ProcessMS= "c:\meta\", VMS;
ok now you have a profile c:\meta, under it you have your scan results or C:\meta\watchlist. there are no duplicates in that scan; the next time you run it, it erases the whole thing and populates with new members. You might have a duplicate in say C:\meta\qrs, but since MSWIN, WOW and most of the charting programs are forced to read 255 dir limits. you only look at one dir at a time. so duplicates won't be in same dir. GET is a diffent matter. it reads all files of a type available on a HD, you get duplicates, but it isn't a problem. A new version of GET reads QP2 directly.
Remember to build a list you only have to have a list of symbols, you can enter new items by going to the charting/list menu. change and save list. then run a scan where output= "watchlist.lst"; and input= "watchlist.lst"; and ProcessMS="c:\meta\watchlist",VMS;
The meta is the father, the scans are the sons.
Now, I continue to miss why anyone wants to add a symbol at a time. The power of QP2 scans is their speed and ease. using the powerful filters both funnymentals and TA available, you can keep up to date files that reflect what you want to focus on. And if you must have a favorites/watchlist, just enter by hand to a list sent to a real metastock dir. if you want to add one just use the add a symbol to it by using the method in output to metastock program.
STAY OUT OF Profile setup, use ProcessMS! |
