Wexler puts his intuition to the test!!!!

On the SI and Yahoo CPU threads, I was pondering how a Staples (SPLS) and CPU merger seemed to make sense.

I have absolutely no clue if anything of the sort is in the works, but I'm going to put my intuition to the test with the following bold prediction:

I predict that CPU will merge or get bought (by *someone*). At the very least an offer will be made for the company. Let's set a time limit of...oh 24 months.

This prediction is very low on my scale of certainty. I - of course - still stand by my earlier recommendation of the company as a strong buy. Higher on my scale of certainty is the assumption that the stock will trade significantly higher in 1999.
