Michael, I asked the question about payroll and employees once recently. Cymedix has between 10 and 12 full time employees including its management. That size makes each employee indespensible. That is laughable compared to Healtheon, the competitor you read most about in the press, who boasts 72 programmers. Even if Mr. Netscape Jim Clark works gratis, I'd estimate that 150 Healtheon employees still draw payroll checks.

Other competitors such as Synetic and Abaton number their Internet programmers in the 30-40 range, double that for total employees. That makes the Wellpoint agreement all the more outstanding, but points out Cymedix gaping hole. The survival of development stage companies like Cymedix become life and death battles. Before yesterday Cymedix was losing that battle. Not nearly enough money, not nearly enough people. After yestrday they bought some time, but now the stakes are higher.

A higher stock price will level the playing field, allow Cymedix to attract new people, give management a reason to stay the course.
