tom, your problems would most likely be solved most reliably by putting in a secomd parallel port, they're cheap. This behavior seems to be common whenever parallel pass-through ports are used, no matter what devices are hooked to them, and AFAIK, there is no pattern to them (of course, you will have somebody saying "it's Iomega's poor design", possibly even before I finish writing this note). It fixed the problem for us, we had a problem with either a pass-through Zip or a pass-through scanner and a HP printer terminating.
