MarginJason,

I admit to sharing you're concerns about the handset operation but IMO Clark made some good points about possible rational behind this capability. Also, if you look at what's happened over the past several years in the handset competition between the major players, product cycles cause leadership to pass from one to the other. This year Nokia's blown everyone else away. But isn't ERICY gearing up to introduce a new platform next year? And isn't the pdQ slated to emerge over the next 6 months? And do you know which generation MSM these Q's are using? Perhaps by the time MOT is shipping volume Q will slip the new chip in and that'll be the end of StarTac outperformance. And when data becomes more important the StarTac display might just turn out to be too small. Did you look at the display on the Denso phone? That thing is huge. I saw one on the street. Looked to me like pictures of an Iridium handset. Like I said however I do share your concerns and wonder whether Q can really afford to compete in this game against such large entrenched players other than through ASICS....DMG
