I'm new to covered called writing and have a (basic) question for anybody to answer:

a dip in prices means you look to cover and rewrite your covered calls.

I'm not sure how to 'cover'. So far I have only wrote the call then waited until it expired. Many times it would have been more advantage for me to cover and rewrite especially when the call is 2-3 months out...

I am assuming I BUY OPEN? (I use E*Trade if anyone is familiar with that)
