Yiwu,

I'm surprised everyone was not already aware of this upcoming change. The news report was all over the tube (cnn, cnbc, hnn) Friday evening and early Saturday. The details are not finalized, but the decision has been made by the FCC to charge the fee, and 2 cents per minute is the number they're floating out right now, probably as a trial balloon. If you want to try to shoot it down, I suggest letters and calls to your local congresspeoples.

It will be similar to a toll charge to cross a bridge, and the proceeds will probably be split by the government and the LD companies. The charge would be collected by the ISP's or paid directly by corp's (probably a lower rate for heavy corp use, but not sure) if they have direct T1 access.

They waited til they got us hooked, and now they're jerking the line to reel us in <g>. And you thought you could do something in this country and not pay a tax. Yeah Right!! Slavery is alive, well, and expanding!! May we buy stock in the slavemaster?

Regards,

David
