MGI Software Selected by Sony Electronics - MGI PhotoSuite Ships with Sony DKC-CM30 Digital Camera
TORONTO, ONTARIO--MGI Software Corp., the world's leading provider of photography software for consumers, today announced that Sony Electronics Inc. is shipping the award-winning MGI PhotoSuite with its new multi-purpose digital still camera, the DKC-CM30. This marks the second instance in as many months Sony has agreed to package MGI applications with its cameras. In September of this year, MGI Software announced that MGI PhotoSuite would be included on the Sony Digital Mavica(R) electronic cameras, the best selling digital still cameras on the market today.
Designed for use in business and industrial imaging applications, the Sony DKC-CM30 is exceptionally lightweight and compact. The camera's design and C-mount type lens capability make it a powerful solution for industrial imaging, microscopy and specialty photo markets. The camera can be used in a handheld position or mounted on a tripod in both vertical and horizontal orientations.
"Sony's decision to offer MGI PhotoSuite with both a camera designed for consumers and one for businesses, highlights how successfully MGI PhotoSuite straddles both markets," said Anthony DeCristofaro, president, CEO, MGI Software Corp. "The ease of use home users experience when working with photographs in MGI PhotoSuite equates to productivity for business users."
MGI PhotoSuite is the easiest way to edit, organize and be creative with photos. It includes over 700 templates for creating business cards, calendars, and more. The program's powerful cataloging feature allows users to organize photos in albums and run slide shows. In addition, MGI PhotoSuite allows users to turn photo albums into Web pages; and take snapshots of the Web using the Virtual Camera.
"The DKC-CM30 is a real breakthrough for anyone considering the purchase of a camera for industrial imaging applications," said James Malcolm, electronic photography marketing manager for Sony Electronics' Broadcast and Professional Company. "MGI PhotoSuite is a great addition, allowing users to effortlessly transfer images from the DKC-CM30."
