Thank you for that excellent explanation of why CD-R is not going to replace removable magnetic media any time soon. Your example of how people believed television would replace radio is a good one.

I heard someone on Bloomberg radio talking about internet broadcasting the other day. He said that in a few years, internet broadcasting would replace radio.

What a dope. So instead of having a radio in my car I'll have a computer connected (via some kind of radio signal, one must suppose) to the internet. I can replace a $20 radio receiver with (at least) several hundred dollars worth of electronics which accomplish the same thing in a far more complicated way. Sure, that's going to happen.

And what about joggers with their FM Walkmans?
