Sad but true. I cannot raise funds if I gave away Cadillacs with shares for NWT gold although this stuff should be as profitable as any. Gold is megabusiness and juniors are wasted. There is not much mining and geology expertise in the Juniors now. Prospecting is dead. We don't have any Jim Norries, Pierre Beauchemins. It was prospectors like Harry Oaks who put Canadian mining on the map. The big companies then cound nothing as today. It was always hard to raise money for exploration and deadly hard to raise money for mines. The CIBC got its start in the Yukon raising money for CDN gold mines. After that it turned its back on "mining accounts". Since 1967 when the money raising was squelched due to the crookedness of 25 Adelaide Street and others the junior market fled to Vancouver and got crookeder and less knowledgeable about politics and mining. Hell they don't even have to know what a stope is these days, but they is experts on Latin American open pit economics. That and VSE regs that allow nest feathering and the art of selling newspapers.

I vote we hang the mining criminal on a case by case basis rather than generalities. We might find a diamond or two that way. And right here at home.
