Thanks for posting. Very interesting . . . & also very frustrating. Just rec'd update on Century Communications "rollout" of @Home service here in my neck of the woods -- LA.

Bottom line: no progress in 4 months. Was told not to expect any cable internet access in 1999. Situated approximately 40,000 ft from my LEC's CO, I won't see ADSL for awhile, not even G.lite. So it looks like its me & my ISDN for at least another year (more likely year & half). Hard to believe how slow (or far) the last mile journey is, especially smack in the middle of LA in a rather high income area (Bel-Air). OK, so much for the venting.

Congrats to all you large bandwidth accessors.
