Michael, your comments to bdog does contain basic truths regarding a company's responsibility to communicate and analysts need for information.

Investors look to analysts for knowledge, confidence, trends and recommendations as key factors when buying or selling. Merrill Lynch is the largest retail broker in the US. Their customers are being told (as they were three months ago) that Merrill has no confidence in qcom (this is a fact) nor do they have "visability" into Q's business. They have concerns about Q's infrastructure, ability to compete in hand sets, potential problems in recognizing foreign revenues.

Now I can just imagine if one of us on SI posted this what kind of response we would get from the rest of the gang. All you have to do is look at the responses to Tero's posts.

Unfortunately for us long on Q this is being told as fact to millions of people around the country by these experts we call analyst. I would hardly call this a game. Until the analysts can interpret Q's communication ( as honest as it may be) with confidence it will not translate into Q's reaching its full valuation.

You mention Amazon.com. Today with revenues of $423 million and losses expected to reach -$1.76 per share on 50 million shares, 24% gross margins, significant competition about to enter their market AMZN has a valuation of $6.3 billion. No one has to explain to me about sleeping good at night as I do owning qcom. However there is some basic truth to the term investor confidence, some have it and some don't. It is up to Q to develop (or educate) the influencing factors which drive this confidence. Thanks
Web.
