Intel Investors - BUSINESS UPDATE INFORMATION on INTEL

Apparently, not only is Intel SOLD OUT (Pentium/II/Celeron) for the current quarter, Q498, Intel's Q199 BOOKINGS have already reached 90% of their Q199 production capacity.

In other words, Q199 is already 90% SOLD OUT (Pentium II/Celerons,).

Furthermore, XEON PRODUCTION is SOLD OUT FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE - beyond Q199 !

Although the XEONS use the same silicon die as the Pentium II, they require at least one additional SRAM die that Intel makes as well as ancillary peripheral chips that go into the XEON modules.

The net result is that THIS quarter and NEXT QUARTER look to be GANGBUSTERS for Intel.

My guess is that the Intel Analyst Meeting this Friday Morning is going to send many of these analysts scurrying for their Cell Phones to phone in their UPGRADE recommendations.

Tom Kurlak will of course remain in New York City reading the wallpaper on his wall.

Paul

(Note that AMD may also benefit from Intel capacity constraints).
