I disagree. First, you offer no evidence that would compel the Fed to hike rates. As my evidence, I offer the approximately six or so interview with Fed officials over the last few days (all can be found at Reuter's) who have all stated they forsee no uplift in inflation.

president Michael Moskow said Thursday he is not alarmed by the
0.5-percent increase in the U.S. producer price index for
December.

"If energy starts to spill over into the cost of goods and
services, then it becomes a concern. But we haven't seen that
yet," Moskow told reporters following a speech to a business
group here.

December PPI rose 0.5 percent overall and gained 0.1
percent in the core rate. Energy prices rose 3.1 percent.
