Republican trouble has nothing to do with Clinton's impeachment. Simply stated, their actions have not matched their rhetoric. The rhetoric scares off those inclined to vote democrat anyway and their inaction turns off their base.

If the Republicans continue to act like Democrat-Lite then yes they must have a death wish. And their wish will come true.

If they turn themselves into the party of tax cuts, real tax reform, real government cutting, then they will continue to strengthen their majorities and this will have been a small coarse correction.
