I agree. In fact, for a while, even the religious fanatics in the Republican party were saying things like, the reason why their party failed was that they didn't do what the good Lord wanted them to do -- cut taxes! :-) :-)

But then, somebody must have mentioned the words "abortion", "gays" and "immigrants" to them, because, just as soon, they were back to their rabid firebrand rhetoric mode!

As some wise man said a long time ago -- you can straighten out a dog's tail, but it won't remain like that for long! :-)
