Dan, you and I are finding some common ground. Based on our posts of Dec 17 (#107-110)it looked as if we were reading from different forecasts and balance sheets with regard to Q4 earnings. However, I strongly agree with your assertion that PTON is positioning itself for a potential sale. The recent reorganization and "house cleaning" are classic pre-sale plays.

I still believe that Proteon will take one last shot at the low-end remote access market on their own. They have focused all resources, R&D to marketing, on taking a leadership position in the SOHO space. If that effort falls short for any reason (other than failed technology) they have protected the investment by creating a packaged subsidiary which can be offered to any number of major players. In either case, current shareholders are very well positioned. As a stand-alone, the technology being developed by OpenROUTE should fetch better than $5/shr. On the other hand, successfull leadership in the SOHO market with product in the $1k range will enable sustained profitability for the first time in years. Any profitability for this company will take this stock closer to $10 than $2...
