I agree with this assessment (and have, repeatedly). As for the departures, it appears that these are mostly from areas that are not in the primary focus of the company. On possible explanation is that these people were pushing competing visions/projects, and they are leaving because they "lost". If key people start leaving from sales, database marketing, or server development then I'll worry.
