Bob, Thank you for correcting my spelling, and for being clever enough to understand that what I really wanted to say is that, I believe AMD and Cyrix, are PARASITES. Using your logic therefore, Cyrix should be very happy NOT to use Intel's MMX (TM), so as to allow customers to differentiate Cyrix's instruction set, from Intel's true MMX (TM). I am all for your suggestion that Cyrix differentiate themselves from Intel. But then Cyrix would not be able to claim any forward or backward compatibility with Intel, Would they? OK, Have it your way, but I think you, and Cyrix, have a long way to go before you can move up in CLASS. Jules |
