The four dimensional optical space is the term the company used. In earlier posts I have tried to qualify this comment of theirs without getting into the KdV equation.

No one said that what Palmer did was a break through in physics, rather it is an innovative way to improve existing optical pumping.

10 - 30 tHtz is achievable. The only known constraint when it comes to transmitting at those densities is the purity of fiber in this era. I have designed fiber that is hollow and isn't subject to that limitation. Another constraint is the photodiode characteristic properties.

I could mention a lot of technical terms that wouldn't convey much meaning. I'm already guilty enough. Solitons are just a way of describing the non-linear, non-dispersive Maxwell solutions. Non-linear compensates for dispersion, a fact known before Maxwell. Obviously that's at the core of the matter in photonics. The question is what is the best way to generate the most stable solitons?

This company is private, so folks you have no choice at all but to follow Webster and buy CIEN.
