Good news for Visio. ORACLE to fully integrate technology which also supplies a Visio interface -- the Concentra software uses Visio to present a diagram and schematic view. Notice Oracle will use this setup for "both its front office and manufacturing product lines." This would seem to mean that Visio immediately has access to what is no doubt a huge customer base. Also, one wonders if a "closer tie-up" with Oracle is in the cards for Visio?

REDWOOD SHORES, California, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Software company Oracle Corp said on Tuesday it has signed an agreement to buy the remaining shares of Concentra Corp (NASDAQ:CTRA) for $7 each, or about $43 million. Oracle said in a statement the closing of the tender offer is subject to it acquiring at least 51 percent of Concentra's stock and regulatory approvals. Oracle will become the sole stockholder of Concentra. The transaction is expected to close near the end of the year. Oracle will use Concentra's configurator engine in both its front office and manufacturing product lines. Concentra's flagship product, SellingPoint, will be available immediately from Oracle, will be completely integrated into Oracle applications, and will also continue to be available on a standalone basis.
