Korea Circuit Company, Ltd. Selects ESI Advanced Electronic Packaging Systems
PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Electro Scientific Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: ESIO - news) announced an order from Korea Circuit Company for four ESI Model 5100 laser micro-via drilling systems. These systems, designed to produce high-quality very small holes in small geometry circuit boards, will be used in the production of products for Korea Circuit's digital mobile telephone customers.

ESI has installed over 125 of its 5000 series laser drilling equipment in over 15 countries around the world. The Model 5100 provides enabling technology for the manufacture of blind, buried and through-hole micro-vias for small geometry circuit board and semiconductor package applications. The system processes single or multi-layer laminated materials and features ESI's proprietary, solid state, ultraviolet wavelength laser specifically developed for these applications.
