First DSL Service Bundles For US Firms Arrive NASDAQ:CNCX

CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA, U.S.A., Concentric Corp. [NASDAQ:CNCX] has launched what it says is the industry's first range of small office, home office (SOHO) and small business DSL (digital subscriber line) bundled services.
According to company officials, the two bundles launched today offer users a complete "IT department in a box," giving small businesses access to large company functionality without the high costs and managerial headaches.
The idea behind the two service bundles, Newsbytes notes, is that they include DSL service facilities and software, as well as copy of Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server. Coupled with the firm's Concentric Host software, officials say, the bundle allows small firms to host their servers on an " always on" Internet link.
While DSL connections do not usually offer the same bandwidth availability as leased lines, Newsbytes notes that the two Concentric bundles offer small businesses an interesting low cost way of hosting their own Net-connected server.
The first bundle is the Concentric SBS Internet Suite, which the firm says provides Web hosting, Internet e-mail exchange and DSL services for Microsoft's Small Business Server customers in one all-inclusive service package.
According to Concentric, this service is ideal for companies who want to deploy Microsoft's Small Business Server for their local area network (LAN) and who also need "always connected" Internet access along with high performance Web hosting.
The second option is for small businesses who need Web hosting services and high-speed Internet access. Known as the ConcentricDSL Internet Suite, the service combines DSL Internet access with ConcentricHost, Concentric's Web hosting and e-mail service.
According to John Peters, Concentric's general manager, the ConcentricHost range of Web hosting services is based on a reliable server cluster and is available in a range of price plans with flexible features, multiple e-mail accounts using a vanity domain name, as well as support for publishing Web sites using Microsoft FrontPage Extensions.
"We've taken our DSL services and combined them with our Web hosting and Small Business Server offerings to enable the small business to have the best combination of high-performance, cost-effective Internet tools," he explained.
According to Peters, the new bundles are like having an IT department in a box - - "allowing the home and small office to have the technology enjoyed by a large company without the management and operation headaches."
The Concentric SBS Internet Suite service deal starts at $154 a month and ranges to $439 depending on the DSL speed and size of Web hosting account required.
According to the firm, the ConcentricDSL Internet Suite is available in a range of plans with varying Web hosting features and DSL speeds, with pricing starting at $179 a month and ranging up to $599 a month.
