Gersh: Furbys make me think of that punk Ruxpin. After Ruxpin was a success, the importer, Worlds of Wonder (WOWI) designed several interactive toys. The toys were supposed to sit in front of a TV program and interact with it.

Earlier that Fall, I made a choice between two companies to buy. WOWI or another called MSFT. MSFT had been trying to move Win 286 or 386. I think they were planning on their newer version of WIN. I liked both company's products and MSFT's ideas for the future. I decided to go short term with WOWI because it was a toy play. I would hold it for a few months and go with MSFT later.

Well, WOWI could not get the product to market. Of course, they stocked the shelves in January in time for inventory buildup. WOWI went bankrupt very quickly. MSFT fared just a bit better since then. WOWI was the last stock that I lost money on.
