Skeeter, you ask what will prevent the Fed from printing money if we have deflation -tough love fer de buck . Foreign central banks have sold $90 billion in U.S. treasuries this year-during the prior 3 years they had purchased $450 billion. Our savings rate in the U.S. is dismal so we must rely on foreigners to purchase our debt . The willingness of foreigners to accept paper dollars in exchange for real goods ( helping to keep the cpi & ppi low) cannot go on indefinitely. One other point there is inflation -it is in the financial mkts. There is an alternative to fiat money -gold #reply-6366772. Mike
