Sam and others, I hope nobody takes offence with this message, but with all the recent posts on this thread about how "we need a PR," I have come to one conclusion. The best this about getting TSIG out of the gutter (in terms of stock price) is that we get a different type of investor. We lose the "all we need is a PR types" and hopefully get the types who read SEC filings and look at sales, sales growth, revenues, revenue growth, etc. Does anyone really think that the stock price of TSIG will appreciate in value *and* hold that value just because we have a great website that is better than CDNOW? NO! We will get a market cap similar to CDNOW when we get sales and revenues similar to cdnow. (Yes, there are other factors involved, but lets keep it simple.) People who think that TSIG should put out a PR because we have an ad in a magazine are VERY short sighted. Maybe these people are in it for the quick 25% rise. There is nothing wrong with that, but many of the people who want a PR out now also state that they are long on TSIG. If they are truly long, then they should be more concerned with sales efforts, the marketing plan, etc. Who gives a rat's ass if there is a PR today or tomorrow?!?! They best thing that will make this stock price increase in value is sales. Period. How do we get sales? First and foremost we need to get the website finished. After that, we need to distribute the card, we need to advertise, we need to get a sales program started, we need to get deals with internet commerce sites, etc. All of these things will generate long term sales. I would be very, very happy with $4 to $5 million in total sales over the next 4 quarters. I would like to see total sales of $15 to $20 million for the year 2000. Profits? Well, the more the better, obviously, but sales are important to show potential investors that we are real and that we aren't a penny stock anymore. Once we do that we get people invested who don't care whether there is a PR today or tomorrow, and then we really start to take off. We will get people who think that 5 years is a long time to hold a stock. Right now we have people who think 5 weeks is a long time.
Again, I hope I didn't piss anyone off with this post, but I was getting a little frustrated listening to everyone harp on the fact that we "NEED A PR TODAY, DAMNIT!" Not true, I tell you. We need sales and profits for long term stock price appreciation - that is where the "family fortunes" are made.
Take care, Dave |
