Hmm, there must be a few threads that lean
that way...I'll snoop around and see what I
can dig up and report back. I would say that
most of the people I know are the type of investor
you have described--they want a few good ideas,
and they are not interested in trading them.

For instance...
I'm a lot more active than my wife, my relatives,
and all my co-workers--to the extent that when
stocks and investing come up in conversation
these people are quick to dismiss what I have
to say...the retort is usually well, I'm a long
term investor
. I want to grab them by the
shoulders and tell them that just because they
are not traders doesn't mean they cant have some
ideas about what to own...and when to buy it.
There were some great opportunities in biotech and
overseas markets with this last correction...what
a shame so many people stay in a big fund without
picking up a few other things while they are on
sale.

I'm not saying that any of my ideas would be suitable
for these types of investors--but these people are
certainly capable of knowing what they like...the
trick is not to pay too much...and know when to take
profits.
