What I would like is to treat tick bars like any other bar, that is, I would determine how many periods (trades) would make up a single bar. We have one minute, five minute, ten minute, etc. bars and I would like two tick, five tick, fifty tick, etc. bars. This makes a difference for things like Moving Averages, which I use quite a lot.
I would be happy to continue using Daytrader just for charting purposes except for my aforementioned problem of major time lags with the cable feed. OTOH, RT almost offers what I need. How hard could it be for them to include multi-tick bar capability in a future release?
